Martin G. Grier (Marty) is the Director, Maintenance and has been employed by The Home Depot aviation department in Atlanta Georgia the past 20 years.

Grier is a values-based Business Aviation leader with extensive experience in corporate aviation flight department and FBO/MRO leadership/operations.

He has a bachelor’s degree in business management & ethics, Airframe & Powerplant license with Inspection Authorization. He is a Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).

With more than 45 years in aviation, Grier has held various positions to include Vice President, General Manager, Director of Technical Services and Director of Maintenance for major business aviation organizations such as Elliott Aviation, Flight Safety International, Raytheon Aircraft Services and Jet East, Inc.

He has played a significant role in the Home Depot Safety Management System, participating in the path to achieve OSHA VPP and IS-BAO Stage III. His current role spans across the department with specific emphasis on all aircraft and facilities maintenance personnel and activities at The Home Depot.

Grier has served on the NBAA Safety Committee in various roles over the past 13 years leading the team that developed the Safety Manger Certificate program. Prior to that Marty served on the NBAA Maintenance committee for 5 years and chaired the 2010 MMC conference in San Diego. He also currently serves as the Chairman of the Bombardier Safety Standdown Advisory Council and was the 2018 recipient of the Safety Standdown Award. Grier strongly believes in giving back through mentoring and volunteers to help military personnel ease the transition back into civilian life and workforce through American Corporate Partners.

Grier has been married to his wife Karee for more than 40 years and together they have three grown children and two granddaughters. They both enjoy traveling, hiking and being outside playing in the yard. Marty also enjoys woodworking, playing the guitar and driving his 65 Triumph TR4A around the north Georgia mountains.
